FAQ's

Tryouts for each sport will vary depending on how the coach runs them. They generally will run for 2-3 days and will have the athletes running through multiple drills. Please email your coaches if you would like more information. 

At Sierra Middle School all practices begin at 3:00 and run to 4:45 unless otherwise specified by coaches. Practices are every day after school during the season unless we have a game. 

All Games and Events will be updated on the Athletic Schedules page as well as the athletic calendar. Sierra will have 3 home games/meets/events and 3 away games/meets/events. Transportation is NOT provided to any of the away meets. 

Legally we cannot officially set up carpools for our athletes, but we are able to informally ask and assist students in getting a ride to away meets. We have a very high success rate in getting our athletes to all events. We do ask that all parents pick up their athletes at away events no later than 5:30 (unless otherwise specified). 

The great thing about Middle School sports is that we provide all the athletic equipment and uniforms. We ask that you please keep all borrowed equipment and uniforms clean and return them at the end of the season. 

Many of our athletes participate in other activities or club sports. We understand this and are very willing to accommodate those schedules. We understand if athletes cannot make every practice or game. Please communicate any scheduled accommodation to your coach. 

The last and most important thing about Sierra Athletics is to have fun! We have all different ability levels and do our best to split them up based on our A/B/C schedules, but we focus on making sure the athletes are having fun and growing to be better athletes in and outside of school.
