Cell Phones, Earbuds, Headphones
(Electronics Violations)

Student cell phones should be off and out of sight between 7:30 am - 2:45 pm. Cell phones must be away during class, passing, and in the hallways, restrooms, and locker rooms.
Students can access their cell phone during lunch but only in the cafeteria or outside. If a student needs to contact a parent or guardian, they can do so in the main office with their cell phone or the school’s phone.
Earbuds and headphones are to be off and out of sight during the school day. Students may use them at lunch in the cafeteria or outside.
If a student has their cell phone, earbuds, or headphones out, the opportunity to correct their behavior is given. Repeated occurrences of having cell phone, earbuds, or headphones out will result in school-based consequences.

1st Occurrence

Student will be asked to put their cell phone, earbuds, or headphones out of sight. Refusal to do so moves the behavior up in severity and will be handled by administration.

2nd Occurrence
(in class)
Also in any common area, regardless of occurrence.

Cell phone, earbuds, or headphones given to staff member. The staff member will secure the item in the main office and the student will pick it up at the end of the day. Parent is notified via email.
If in common area, staff member will secure the item in the main office and the main office will determine which occurrence this is classified as. Occurrence steps are followed after that.

3rd Occurrence

Cell phone, earbuds, or headphones given to staff member. The staff member will secure the item in the main office and a parent must get the item from the main office.

4th Occurrence
|
Cell phone, earbuds, or headphones given to staff member. The staff member will secure the item in the main office and a parent must get the item from the main office. A problem-solving meeting will occur to develop a plan so that the student can successfully meet the expectations.
